Prof. Yang Lee, Northeastern University

Yang Lee, PhD is a Professor at Northeastern University and the Faculty Director of its online Master’s in Business Analytics program. A recognized authority in data quality and analytics management, she advises organizations around the world on data strategy, data product design, and data-driven organizational transformation.

She is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the ACM Journal of Data and Information Quality, and her influential, widely cited work—including Journey to Data Quality (MIT Press), “The Cubic Framework for CDOs” (MISQE), and journal articles on data quality assessment, data products, context-reflective data quality problem-solving, causal relationships in data processes and data roles—has significantly shaped how institutions design, manage, and lead with data.

Her research investigates real-world data challenges, data-mediated institutional learning and change, and the evolving role of data and data practice in business and society. She was a visiting professor at MIT, where she also earned her PhD, and has held distinguished visiting professorships at the University of São Paulo and Xi’an Jiaotong University.
